1. What type of wood are they made of? 2. When a surfboard is wall mounted on a horizontal plane, the bottom edge rests in the hand obviously and the board leans back with the top edge resting against the wall?
The manufacturer does not specify what type of wood is used in the construction of the rack. This is all that is indicated: "Our wood products are made of EIA and Telapak approved-Non-Endangered trees." As to your second question, you are exactly right. The bottom edge of the board will rest on the hand and the top edge of the board will rest up against the wall. The fingers will prevent the board from sliding out.
What prevents your board from sliding off the rack?
The rack is designed to safely display various items. The fingertips will prevent any item that is being displayed on the rack from sliding off.
