What is Propionate?
It's a soft, flexible material that allows for a sleek, dense finish creating a modern, comfortable, durable frame. For the Organic Chemists out there, it's C2H5COO- (we think).
What is a 9 x 3 Base lens?
A lens' Base refers to the amount of arc in the lens and therefore the arc in the frame. A 6-Base is a more flat, square shape creating a more scholarly look. A larger base like a 9-Base is more wrapped and therefore will appear more suited for active endeavors. In 9 x 3 the 9 refers to the horizontal arc and the 3 refers to the vertical wrap.
What is a Toric Lens?
The horizontal and vertical Base curves are different.
What is an ARC lens?
Holly smokes - all these lens questions! In short, it's Spy's optically correct distortion free lens. ARC stands for Accurate Radius Curvature. The lenses become thinner as they move away from the optical center of the lenses thereby eliminating any distortion.
